Côte d’Ivoire champions human-centered migration governance at un forum

The Côte d’Ivoire is making its mark on the global stage by actively participating in the second session of the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) at the United Nations headquarters in New York. This strategic engagement underscores the country’s dedication to a migration governance model rooted in cooperation, human dignity, and sustainable development.

The IMRF, focused on advancing the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration adopted in Marrakech in 2018, brings together nations to address critical challenges and opportunities in global human mobility.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, Dr. Hinin Moustapha, Director-General of the National Population Office (ONP), represented Côte d’Ivoire in high-level discussions. His intervention highlighted the nation’s strides in key migration management areas, including enhanced migration data systems, reduced vulnerabilities, combating discrimination, and fostering international cooperation.

Strengthening migration data for informed policies
