The Blue Hall at ONAMA hosted a significant literary event last weekend as Issa Hassana Adoum, a former member of parliament, unveiled his latest work, « The Evolution of Chad’s Parliamentary Life from 1960 to 2020 ».
This meticulously researched 612-page volume, structured across five thematic chapters, offers a comprehensive analysis of Chad’s parliamentary journey over six decades. The author examines institutional transformations, persistent challenges, key achievements, and the nation’s political shifts since gaining independence in 1960.
Dr. Issa Hassana Adoum emphasized that this publication marks a pivotal scholarly contribution to understanding Chad’s political and institutional heritage. Designed for researchers, students, policymakers, and future generations, the book serves as both an academic resource and a historical reference.
He further revealed that the manuscript originated from his doctoral thesis before being adapted and published as a full-length book.
The Arabic-language book sparked lively discussions during the presentation. Attendees, including prominent figures, strongly advocated for a complete French translation to expand access for students, academics, and readers interested in Chad’s parliamentary evolution.
The event concluded with an interactive book-signing session, where Issa Hassana Adoum personally autographed copies for attendees.
