Chad assesses two-year progress of president’s agenda

The General Secretariat of the Government has initiated a technical validation workshop for the two-year progress report, a critical step in assessing the President’s political program, taking place from June 2 to 5 in N’Djaména.

Government evaluates national priorities

In alignment with the President’s five-year mandate, the workshop focuses on reviewing achievements from May 2024 to May 2026. Opening the session at the Radisson Blu hotel, Dr. Ramatou Mahamat Outouin, the Minister-Secretary General of the Government, emphasized that this exercise goes beyond mere document review—it represents a vital accountability moment for the Chadian people.

« This gathering is about collectively examining how far we’ve come in fulfilling our commitments to the nation, » she stated, highlighting President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s vision of transforming public action and prioritizing citizen concerns. Transparency in governance and rebuilding public trust in state institutions were underscored as key pillars of this process.

Measuring progress and addressing challenges

The Minister acknowledged the teams behind the report’s compilation, noting, « Each statistic and indicator reflects the dedication of individuals who worked tirelessly to ensure accuracy. » While recognizing the challenges of such evaluations, she stressed their necessity for identifying successes and addressing shortcomings.

« This isn’t about praising achievements—it’s about understanding where we stand, » she remarked, urging participants to engage in constructive dialogue about both progress and obstacles. She emphasized that the government’s efforts must translate into tangible benefits for farmers, educators, entrepreneurs, and every citizen.

Concluding her address, Dr. Ramatou Mahamat Outouin framed the workshop as both a technical and human endeavor, calling for rigorous, responsible analysis. « The report must accurately capture the reality of our advances and the work still ahead, » she said before declaring the workshop officially underway.
