Cameroon opposition leader warns of dire choices ahead
In his latest weekly reflection, Maurice Kamto, national president of Cameroon’s Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC), issues a stark warning about the country’s future.
In his latest weekly reflection, Maurice Kamto, national president of Cameroon’s Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC), issues a rallying cry for resilience and hope amid political turmoil.
For over a year now, the opposition leader has published a weekly thought piece, sharing his fundamental reflections with the public.
«We now stand at a crossroads where our only choices are to destroy our future or surrender indefinitely, or to rise on the single leg that remains—the single arm that still moves, the single eye that refuses to close because it sees the future where others see only nothingness. I will not abandon my faith in the triumph of reason. I will not abandon it. Behind the turmoil, the primal instincts of the masses, the irrationality and hatreds, it is the light of conscience that illuminates the path of our people. This is what will save Cameroon. This is what will restore Africa,» wrote Maurice Kamto.
According to the MRC leader, «the country’s restoration is presented as both the engine and symbol of the continent’s renaissance.»
