In N’Djamena, Algeria and Chad officially formalized an agreement this Thursday, designed to streamline the execution of collaborative initiatives across the public works and infrastructure sectors.
This significant accord is poised to reinforce the robust partnership between Algeria and Chad, propelling forward the implementation of previously established agreements from April. The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure highlighted the strategic importance of this development.

The formal signing ceremony took place with Abdelkader Djellaoui, Algeria’s Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, and Amir Idriss Kourda, Chad’s Minister of Infrastructure, Disenclavement, and Road Maintenance, affixing their signatures. This event occurred during a crucial coordination meeting in N’Djamena, marking the second day of an Algerian delegation’s working visit to Chad. High-ranking officials present included the Director General of the Algerian Agency for International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, Algeria’s Ambassador to Chad, and senior representatives from the Cosider Group and the National Public Works Company (SNTP).
From the Chadian side, the Minister Delegate for Infrastructure, alongside several senior executives, also attended the assembly. During the discussions, the Chadian minister emphasized the « rapid dynamic » now characterizing the execution of bilateral agreements. He lauded the tangible progress achieved on the ground since the initial agreements were signed on April 22 in Algiers. This advancement is notably visible through reciprocal technical visits and the commencement of critical feasibility studies for the Trans-Saharan Road project, specifically for its segment traversing Chadian territory.
