In a significant strategic shift, Togo is now positioning private investors and businesses at the core of its ambitious long-term development plans. In Lomé, government officials convened key economic stakeholders on Thursday, July 30, to address a pivotal question: how can the private sector become a fundamental pillar of the economic transformation anticipated in the coming years?
The high-level workshop, dedicated to the nation’s Vision Togo 2040 and the governmental roadmap for 2026-2031, brought together a diverse group. Attendees included representatives from the World Bank Group, employers’ federations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, prominent Togolese corporations, and international experts. The session was inaugurated by Sandra Ablamba Johnson, Minister and Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Council, delivering remarks on behalf of President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé.
