A notable shift has occurred at the helm of the Compagnie Énergie Électrique du Togo (CEET). Débo-K’mba Barandao, who served as the General Director, has been relieved of his duties.
While no official statement has yet clarified the reasons behind this decision, Barandao’s departure coincides with ongoing challenges faced by CEET concerning the nation’s electricity supply and the overall quality of service across the network.
Appointed in March 2022, Débo-K’mba Barandao was tasked with spearheading various reforms within the public corporation, particularly focusing on organizational and operational improvements. His tenure was notably marked by several restructuring initiatives.
CEET, a crucial entity in Togo’s energy sector, has grappled with recurring difficulties for several years, including frequent power outages and the imperative to modernize its aging infrastructure.
At present, authorities have not yet announced Barandao’s successor. A new appointment is anticipated in the coming days to ensure the continuity of essential services.
