Rwanda hosts ivoirian delegation at basketball investor forum

Kigali, Rwanda — A high-level delegation from Côte d’Ivoire, led by Minister of State Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, met with President Paul Kagame in Kigali on May 22. The meeting took place during the inaugural Basketball Africa League (BAL) Investor Day, where Adjoumani represented President Alassane Ouattara.

The encounter underscored the deepening ties between Côte d’Ivoire and Rwanda, with both leaders emphasizing shared perspectives on the continent’s future. The Ivorian delegation conveyed warm greetings from President Ouattara, highlighting the importance of strengthening bonds between the two nations.

The Minister of State also outlined Côte d’Ivoire’s commitment to leveraging sports as a driver of economic growth and regional unity. President Kagame praised the Basketball Africa League for its potential to reshape Africa’s sports economy, noting its role in attracting investment, fostering job creation, and nurturing local talent.

During the discussion, President Kagame announced plans for an upcoming state visit to Côte d’Ivoire, further reinforcing the momentum in bilateral relations. The meeting reflects a shared ambition to build a dynamic, youth-focused Africa united in purpose.
