Ohada law moot court competition and academic event in Niamey 2026

The Club OHADA at Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey (UAM) is set to host a prestigious academic gathering on May 22-23, 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00. The event, themed « OHADA: Past, Present, and Future! », will feature a solemn academic opening alongside the 8th edition of the OHADA Law Moot Court Competition.

This dual-purpose program combines scholarly discourse with competitive legal advocacy, aiming to foster OHADA legal culture, enhance judicial eloquence, and stimulate doctrinal debate on the evolution of uniform African business law.

Key competition themes

• Preliminary round: « Should African business law under OHADA be redefined? »
• Final round: « OHADA Law: Business Law or Economic Activity Law? »

These topics reflect current discussions on expanding OHADA’s material scope and adapting uniform law to Africa’s economic transformations and global market shifts.
