Mali’s top hadith memorizers selected for international final

The Malian branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Scholars has concluded the national selection phase for the 3rd edition of the prestigious Nabawi Acharif Hadith Memorization Competition. Held on June 27, 2026, at the foundation’s headquarters in Banankabougou, the rigorous one-day event culminated in the naming of three standout candidates who will proudly represent Mali on the global stage.

These finalists emerged victorious from a pool of 50 talented participants hailing from Quranic schools and memorization centers across Bamako and other regions of the country. The competition aligns perfectly with the foundation’s strategic vision, which emphasizes the preservation and dissemination of Prophetic teachings to foster unity and moral excellence among African youth.

Each candidate demonstrated exceptional skill in reciting and recalling sacred Hadiths during the selection process. The winners were announced across three competitive categories:

  • Ahmad Sow claimed the elementary-level prize after flawlessly reciting 40 Hadiths
  • Mouhamad Diallo secured the intermediate-level title with 30 Hadiths
  • Boubacar Traoré earned top honors in the advanced category with another 30 Hadiths

The foundation’s mission extends beyond mere competition—it seeks to cultivate a deeper understanding of Islamic values such as tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation. By nurturing these principles, the initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion and inspire future generations to embrace wisdom and ethical conduct.
