King Mohamed VI presented an optimistic assessment of Morocco’s current trajectory, highlighting three critical pillars: unwavering stability and security that foster national confidence, robust economic growth driven by industrialization and technological advancement — achieving 80% self-sufficiency in food, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturing — and accelerated development of green energy initiatives, particularly green hydrogen.

His Majesty emphasized the urgent need to address persistent socioeconomic disparities, ensuring the benefits of macroeconomic health reach all Moroccan regions equally.

He stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in integration plans, noting that “in parallel with economic progress, we continue to implement numerous human development initiatives and expand social protection programs to improve living conditions and achieve both social and spatial justice.”

King Mohamed VI called for mobilizing national savings to consolidate recent achievements and embark on a new phase of continuity following the upcoming September 23, 2026 elections.

On this special occasion, His Majesty granted clemency to 1,788 individuals, including both detainees and those at liberty, as announced by the Ministry of Justice.

“Praise be to God, prayers and peace be upon the Prophet, his family, and companions.

Dear people,

With immense pride and deep satisfaction, We celebrate today the 27th anniversary of Our accession to the Throne.

Twenty-seven years have passed since the Almighty willed that We be entrusted with leading your destiny. The mission is noble, and the responsibility is immense.

In resonance with the Almighty’s words: ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more,’ We express our gratitude for the blessings He bestows upon Us by guiding Us toward success in meeting your expectations and addressing your concerns.

Never has personal glory or the pursuit of a ‘continental or international leader’ title been Our ultimate goal. Rather, Our sole concern has always been to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to Us in serving you, ensuring all Moroccans can live with dignity as free citizens.

Today, reviewing what We have achieved together fills Us with honor and pride in the significance of our gains and instills full optimism about the future.

More than a source of personal satisfaction, this assessment fosters a gratifying sense of confidence and serenity that empowers Us to move forward and pursue Our mission.

The results of Our efforts are not coincidental; they are the outcome of a clear strategic vision and a governance doctrine rooted in initiative-taking, rigorous follow-up, constructive self-criticism, and unwavering determination to approach the future with resolve and positivity.

Indeed, in a regional and international context marked by turmoil and multiple tensions, political and institutional stability is a rare and invaluable asset.

Today, stability is the key variable in Morocco’s development equation. It is also the strategic capital that makes the country proud.

A nation with a millennia-old history, Morocco draws its strength from its ancestral traditions of a nation-state where institutions perform their roles in harmony and complementarity. This is why achievements continue with the required efficiency, and the country succeeds in overcoming challenges despite difficulties.

In this regard, Morocco has demonstrated its effectiveness by successfully organizing major continental and international events. Such mastery has earned it admiration and esteem worldwide, though it has also attracted envy on occasion.

Furthermore, Morocco has shown remarkable resilience in the face of disasters and crises, as evidenced by its proactive management of the floods that affected the Gharb and northern regions.

Thanks to the prevailing security, stability, and institutional efficiency, positive indicators are multiplying across all sectors, reinforcing the economic emergence dynamic and further safeguarding national sovereignty.

Indeed, the growth rate reached approximately 4.9% in 2025, with expectations of maintaining or exceeding this rate in 2026.

Regarding agriculture, Morocco has experienced abundant rainfall and a successful farming season. This favorable climate has strengthened the country’s water and food security.

The automotive, aeronautics, renewable energy, and agri-food sectors now form essential pillars of the national productive fabric, both for their ability to attract investment and their capacity to generate wealth and employment.

Today, Morocco has become Africa’s leading automotive exporter, with an annual production capacity of about one million vehicles. The automotive and aeronautics sectors now account for over 40% of Morocco’s total exports, surpassing even the phosphate sector.

Supporting this trend, We presided over the launch ceremony of new industrial units earlier this year. This initiative positions Morocco to join the exclusive group of countries with major hubs specializing in aircraft engine and landing system manufacturing.

Driven by the same spirit of innovation and development, large-scale projects are underway to make renewable energy a cornerstone of energy security and a lever for attracting industries seeking competitive, decarbonized energy.

As part of this ambitious strategy, the operational rollout of the ‘Morocco Green Hydrogen Offer’ has begun, with licenses granted to a first group of megaprojects.

Dear people,

In an international context marked by rising protectionism and the imperative to secure supply and production chains, We have made strengthening national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency key axes of industrial development.

This approach is best illustrated by the agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, which now cover nearly 80% of national needs.

Additionally, establishing an industrial and technological defense and cybersecurity base will gradually consolidate defense sovereignty and create development opportunities, reinforcing the country’s status as a regional power in these fields.

Alongside economic promotion, We continue to deploy multiple human development initiatives and programs, particularly through the expansion of social protection. Our ultimate goal is to improve the living conditions of Moroccans and establish social and spatial justice.

In this regard, We emphasize the need for efficient implementation of integrated territorial development programs, ensuring they encompass all regions without exception.

Moreover, the economic and social transformation requires mobilizing financial resources of unprecedented scale, with the majority to be sourced domestically.

That is why We urge the national financial sector to continue supporting investment and major projects and to qualitatively expand access to financing — both banking and non-banking — for small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, industrialization, and exports.

We also hope the financial sector becomes more open and innovative to optimally mobilize national savings, particularly institutional savings, and revitalize financial markets. This will provide a significant boost to the development momentum of emerging Morocco.

With divine assistance, We have strengthened Morocco’s position as a credible, respected, and listened-to international actor.

The Kingdom now stands as a leading economic operator and a sought-after partner for new, balanced, and forward-looking partnerships.

Armed with this status, it can now confidently and transparently engage all its partners and propose constructive partnership offers and promising cooperation initiatives on bilateral issues and major international challenges.

The celebration of the Glorious Throne Day is an opportunity for Us to reaffirm Our pride and esteem for the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, territorial administration, national security, auxiliary forces, and civil protection.
