The President of Kenya, William Ruto, praised on Wednesday the strong partnership between Kenya and Chad, highlighting Chad’s leadership in global security efforts and its pivotal role in the Africa Forward Summit.
Following a meeting at the State House with his Chadian counterpart, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, Ruto emphasized the shared values and mutual respect that underpin their diplomatic ties. He reaffirmed the two nations’ commitment to advancing African interests, fostering continental progress, and deepening global cooperation.
The Kenyan leader also commended Chad’s involvement in the United Nations-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, noting that such an initiative reinforces international efforts to restore peace, stability, and hope in the Caribbean nation.
Ruto further acknowledged Chad’s instrumental role in ensuring the success of the Africa Forward Summit, held this week in Nairobi. The event brought together African leaders and international partners focused on reshaping economic, political, and security collaborations.
