An evening of vibrant West African rhythms and cultural celebration in support of Burkina Faso
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the Marcel-Sembat hall came alive with the infectious energy of West African music and dance during the “African Vibrations” gala, organized by the Faso Lili association.
Before a captivated audience of 170 guests, this colorful evening showcased the rich diversity of West African heritage while raising funds for a meaningful solidarity project.
For years, Faso Lili has dedicated itself to promoting traditional West African music and dance through classes, workshops, and performances. This annual gala provided members with a platform to present their hard work alongside acclaimed professional artists.
The show featured a dynamic blend of live music and choreographed dance, with nearly 70 performers on stage, supported by five professional musicians and two professional dancers. The audience was treated to performances by Samba Diarra, singer-songwriter, Ali Diarra from the group Les Frères Diarra, and choreographer Moussa Camara. The evening was further enriched by the presence of Malian professional dancer Mariam Doumbia, whose talent and energy electrified the stage.
Throughout the night, spectators were swept up in the spirited rhythms, vibrant costumes, and authentic celebration of West African culture. The intermission offered a chance for guests to mingle and enjoy refreshments provided on-site.
Beyond its artistic brilliance, the gala carried a deeper purpose. All proceeds from the event will support Faso Lili’s cultural center project in Burkina Faso, a space designed to promote cultural access, knowledge sharing, and intercultural exchange.
The combined efforts of volunteers, artists, members, and the public made this 2026 edition of “African Vibrations” a resounding success, reaffirming that culture remains one of the most powerful tools for connection, solidarity, and positive change.
