As the summer transfer window heats up, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Spanish forward Ferran Torres. The move comes after the Ligue 1 giants lost their star striker Gonçalo Ramos, who completed a €74 million move to AC Milan on June 30.
With Torres’ contract running until June 2027 at FC Barcelona, PSG has already secured preliminary agreements for the player’s services. According to insiders, the French club is set to offer the Spanish international a five-year contract to fill the void left by Ramos. But the Catalan giants are not backing down without a fight.
Barcelona’s stance on Ferran Torres’ future
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding Torres’ potential departure. Speaking from Dallas ahead of the FIFA World Cup semifinal between France and Spain, Laporta made it clear that the club is not entertaining any transfer talks—yet.
“There have been rumors about a possible move to PSG, but we haven’t received any official confirmation,” Laporta stated. “Ferran is a Barcelona player—one of our 14 squad members at the World Cup. He’s a key performer, and every time he steps on the pitch, he poses a real threat. His assist against Merino was nothing short of spectacular. For now, we have an outstanding squad, which is why I’m here myself.”
What’s next for Ferran Torres and PSG?
While Laporta’s remarks suggest Barcelona is not rushing to sell, PSG remains determined to finalize the deal. With negotiations reportedly in advanced stages, football enthusiasts are now waiting to see whether the transfer will go through—or if Barcelona will pull the brakes last minute.
