Brest to pay tribute to Éric Roy against PSG in Ligue 1
Three months after his passing, Stade Brestois 29 will honor the memory of Éric Roy during their upcoming Ligue 1 clash against Paris Saint-Germain. The tribute is scheduled for the fourth matchday, set to take place on September 13, 2026, at the Francis-Le Blé Stadium.
In an official statement, the club expressed their intention to create a fitting tribute, stating, « Éric Roy’s legacy within the club and the deep affection held by his family, friends, staff, and the entire Brest community deserve nothing less. »
Originally, the club had considered organizing the tribute during earlier fixtures at Francis-Le Blé. However, logistical challenges—including limited spectator turnout during preparation matches and the closure of the Quimper stand due to pyrotechnic incidents during a previous game against Toulouse FC—prompted a delay.
The club confirmed that the PSG match would provide the ideal setting to pay homage to Roy, ensuring a memorable and emotionally resonant tribute.
