Terem Moffi rejoins Nice amidst transfer speculation

Nigerian forward Terem Moffi is set to return to OGC Nice for pre-season training this Wednesday morning, following his loan spell at Porto. While a permanent move away from the club is anticipated, he will not be isolated from the main squad.
After a half-season stint where he helped FC Porto clinch the Portuguese Championship, Nigerian international Terem Moffi is back with OGC Nice. Despite his contributions, Porto ultimately opted not to activate their €8 million purchase option, leading to his return to the French club. Moffi is scheduled to undergo standard medical tests as part of Nice’s pre-season program this Wednesday morning.
The Riviera-based club has included Moffi on its list of players available for transfer. This decision is influenced by his previous interactions with supporters last season, as well as his substantial salary. OGC Nice is actively working to significantly reduce its overall wage bill, making the forward’s high earnings a factor in their desire for his departure.
While a solution for the 27-year-old Nigerian international’s exit is being sought – he remains under contract with the Aiglons until June 2027 – the club has no intention of sidelining him in a separate training group. Consequently, Moffi is expected to participate in regular pre-season preparations under normal conditions until a transfer is finalized.
