President Romuald Wadagni of Benin landed in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing an official friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso.
Upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, President Wadagni was personally welcomed by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. The two heads of state then observed the playing of their national anthems before receiving full military honors.

Following the ceremonial reception, the Burkinabè and Beninese leaders immediately held a private, one-on-one discussion in the airport’s distinguished VIP lounge.

The two presidents then proceeded to the Koulouba Presidential Palace, where a significant working session was scheduled to take place to further strengthen bilateral ties.
