The President of the Republic has issued a decree appointing new members to the Superior Council of the Judiciary. This decision, made on June 2, 2026, reshuffles the leadership of Cameroon’s highest judicial body.
Key changes in the Superior Council of the Judiciary
Out of the fourteen members, ten have been reappointed for another five-year term after their previous mandates expired a year ago. This renewal reflects a commitment to continuity while introducing fresh perspectives.
A single notable change has been made among the permanent members: Ali Mamouda, an outgoing member, has been replaced by Goni Mariam, who previously served as an alternate. Additionally, former Minister of Public Service Sali Dahirou and Members of Parliament Soppo Toute Marlyse (Wouri, RDPC) and Rolande Ngo Issi (Nyong and Kellé, PCRN) have been appointed to the council.
The new lineup also includes former Vice-President of the Special Criminal Court (TCS), Claude Francis Moukouri, along with Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, and Mekoulou.
