Mauritania seeks Gabon’s backing for Francophonie leadership

The diplomatic ties between Gabon and Mauritania have reached new heights following a high-level meeting in Libreville. His Excellency President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema welcomed Ms. Messouda Bahama Mohamed Laghdaf, a special envoy dispatched by Mauritania’s Head of State, President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. During the discussions, the Mauritanian delegation formally introduced their country’s bid to lead the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).
