Côte d’Ivoire secures massive funding for its 2026-2030 development plan
Côte d’Ivoire has successfully raised 47,820 billion FCFA to finance its ambitious 2026-2030 National Development Plan, a remarkable achievement praised by President Alassane Ouattara.
President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire has expressed profound satisfaction with the outcomes of the consultative group meeting aimed at financing the nation’s 2026-2030 National Development Plan (PND). The gathering successfully secured an impressive 47,820 billion FCFA, equivalent to approximately 80 billion US dollars. This substantial sum significantly surpasses initial projections, being roughly four times the amount originally sought from the private sector.
President Ouattara emphasized that this exceptional achievement underscores the strong confidence the international community places in Côte d’Ivoire and its promising future development trajectory. He affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to translating these financial pledges into tangible progress, focusing on enhancing the country’s infrastructure and expanding economic opportunities for all citizens.
The PND 2026-2030 outlines six core strategic priorities: fostering peace, ensuring robust security, boosting agricultural productivity, stimulating private sector growth, investing in human capital, upgrading critical infrastructure, and upholding good governance. The overarching goal is to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to an upper-middle-income economy by the year 2030, targeting a GDP per capita of 4,500 US dollars and reducing the national poverty rate to below 20%.
The consultative group meeting, held in Abidjan, brought together more than 2,000 investors representing 49 countries. These participants, comprising diverse financial institutions and enterprises, engaged in discussions crucial for mobilizing the necessary funding for the comprehensive Côte d’Ivoire development plan.
