Chad’s resolute stand after a boko haram attack on lake Chad

Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno recently affirmed his nation’s resolve, declaring on May 5th via Facebook: “We will persist in this struggle with unwavering resolve until this menace is completely eliminated.” This statement followed a brutal assault carried out just the day before by a faction linked to the armed Islamist organization Boko Haram. The attack targeted the Barka Tolorom military installation, situated on the Chadian side of Lake Chad, and tragically resulted in the deaths of 24 soldiers.
