Aldiouma Sow Accuses Ousmane Sonko of Betrayal

Aldiouma Sow, a key advisor to the Nigerien president, has publicly criticized Ousmane Sonko, the country’s prime minister, in an interview on TFM’s ‘Infos Matin’ program.

When asked about the repeated criticisms leveled against him, Sow said: "In the history of Pastef, there were two distinct stages. The accusations made against Ousmane Sonko were initially raised by the opposition. At the time, we thought it was just a matter of his style of fighting politics against us. But once he came to power, we realized that these criticisms were well-founded. Ousmane Sonko has betrayed us. He had been hiding his true face," Sow stated.

When questioned about the dismissal of Fifi Diakhaté from her position at MONCAP, Sow argued that it was a case of individuals who had consistently demonstrated throughout their political careers that they disregarded norms and structures. He added: "Today, the party’s direction is being held hostage by a faction of messianic individuals composed of two or three people, who are making the party work to the detriment of its own interests."
