Residents and visitors in Tiassalé, a vibrant city approximately 120 kilometers from Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, can look forward to complimentary communal transport services on weekends. Mayor Antoine Assalé Tiémoko has declared that this innovative program will commence with a pilot phase by the end of 2026.
This forward-thinking initiative, as explained by Mayor Assalé Tiémoko in an official statement released on his Meta account, aims to reallocate the commune’s financial resources for the direct benefit of its citizens. The city’s own revenue, primarily derived from municipal taxes, has shown remarkable growth, escalating from 24 million FCFA in 2019 to an impressive 91 million FCFA in 2025, with projections indicating a further increase to 100 million FCFA by 2026.
The announcement of this unprecedented measure took place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Tiassalé marriage hall. It was a key highlight during the 11th annual accountability day, where the mayor traditionally provides updates on the city’s progress and future plans.
Antoine Assalé Tiémoko is a prominent figure in Côte d’Ivoire, known for his dual roles as a politician and a journalist. Beyond his leadership as the mayor of Tiassalé, he also presides over the political movement ‘Aujourd’hui et demain, la Côte d’Ivoire’ (ADCI).
