Senegal’s prime minister faces parliamentary scrutiny amid key session

Dakar — Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and his cabinet members will appear before national deputies today for the quarterly accountability session, a constitutional obligation to assess government performance.

Scheduled for a 202-minute debate, the session will address 14 questions: 10 allocated to the ruling Pastef-Les patriotes parliamentary group, 2 to the opposition Takku Wallu bloc, and 2 to independent deputies.

This transparency-focused exercise reinforces democratic oversight of public affairs. The session marks the fifth such meeting since the current government took office and will be chaired by Ismaëla Diallo, First Vice-President of the National Assembly.
