A prominent figure within Senegal’s Alliance Pour la République (APR), Maimouna Sène, has issued a pointed challenge to Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, urging him to substantiate allegations through legal channels rather than political rhetoric.
Maimouna Sène, a member of the APR’s national executive committee, has sharply criticized Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, calling for tangible steps toward government accountability while condemning what she describes as politically motivated distractions.
In a bold statement, the former parliamentarian condemned the use of judicial processes as a tool for political maneuvering, stressing that accountability should be a fundamental institutional obligation—not a platform for public spectacle.
Prime minister faces scrutiny over economic priorities
Sène emphasized that the government’s focus must shift toward addressing pressing economic and social challenges facing Senegalese citizens. She highlighted critical areas such as inflation control, job creation, and economic revitalization as top priorities that demand immediate attention.
« If you possess evidence, present it in court and allow the judicial process to unfold transparently, » Sène asserted in direct response to Sonko’s recent public statements.
She further urged the Prime Minister to prioritize action over rhetoric, advocating for a standard of exemplary conduct in public service.
