The administration of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye continues its restructuring efforts, with a second round of high-profile dismissals targeting officials perceived as aligned with Ousmane Sonko. Wednesday’s changes reflect the administration’s commitment to reshaping key institutions in line with its agenda.
Major changes in key state institutions
Among the most significant dismissals was that of Waly Diouf Bodiang, who served as director-general of the Port Autonome de Dakar. A prominent figure within Pastef, he has been succeeded by Doune Pathé Mbengue, a former activist associated with the Apr.
Babo Amadou Ba, national coordinator of Pastef’s cadre division and director-general of the Fonds de Financement de la Formation Professionnelle et Technique (3FPT), also faced removal from his post. He is being replaced by Soulèye Kane.
Lamine Barra Lô, a Pastef representative in Touba, was dismissed from his role as director-general of the Office National de la Formation Professionnelle (ONFP). Mame Awa Ndoye takes over this position.
In the healthcare sector, Karamba Diallo has been appointed as the new director-general of SEN-Pharmacie Nationale d’Approvisionnement, replacing Seydou Diallo, a Sonko ally and Pastef member based in Keur Massar.
