Tchad : agression près du camp 27, un père interpelle les autorités
A young man was attacked near Camp 27 in N’Djamena. His father denounces a security failure and calls for increased citizen protection.
Mahamat Adam, a concerned father, has brought to light a serious incident involving his son, Adam Mahamat Adam, a young man in his early twenties. On Tuesday, July 15, 2026, around 10 PM, his son was the victim of an assault near Camp 27 in N’Djamena, Chad. The incident occurred as the young man was traveling from the Farcha district towards Amriguebé.
While in the vicinity of Camp 27, Adam Mahamat Adam was targeted by assailants, leading to an accident. Despite the shock, he remained conscious and was promptly aided by the sentinels stationed at Camp 27. A police patrol subsequently arrived and transported him urgently to the Central Hospital for medical attention.
Law enforcement officers at the scene managed to secure the young man’s motorcycle, which the attackers had been unable to seize before fleeing. However, the perpetrators successfully evaded capture, escaping the area without being intercepted.
While Mahamat Adam acknowledges the sequence of events, he strongly disputes the interpretation provided by the sentinels. He expressed profound dissatisfaction with their explanation, which merely cited the suspects’ escape. For him, this account fails to grasp the gravity of the situation and, more critically, overlooks what he perceives as a significant lapse in public safety.
“The aggression happened just meters from Camp 27,” he lamented. “This clearly demonstrates that Chadian citizens are not safe, even in locations presumed to offer protection.”
The victim’s father is now urgently calling upon Chad’s Ministry of Public Security to fully embrace its responsibilities and implement more robust measures for citizen protection. He firmly believes that no neighborhood should be without a visible and deterrent presence of security forces. The close proximity of this incident to a military installation, he argues, makes it particularly alarming for the local population and underscores the urgent need for improved Chad security in N’Djamena.
As the investigation continues, the family of the victim awaits concrete actions and meaningful interventions, seeking more than just assurances from the authorities.
