Regulatory authorities in Central Africa have revoked the operating license of Financial Development Tchad S.A. (FINADEV Tchad), a second-tier microfinance institution headquartered in N’Djamena, placing it under forced liquidation.
The decision, issued by the Banking Commission of Central Africa (COBAC) on February 5, 2026, follows a disciplinary review of FINADEV Tchad’s operations. According to an official statement released on May 21, the withdrawal of the microfinance license takes immediate effect.
With the license now revoked, FINADEV Tchad S.A. has entered into liquidation procedures, marking the beginning of a mandatory wind-down process. The COBAC has appointed a liquidator to oversee the dissolution, with a mandate set for an initial period of one year, though extensions may be granted if circumstances require.
